Questions from local guides
Who can join LankaTrip as a local guide?
Sri Lankan local guides, chauffeur guides and guides offering cultural, wildlife, trekking, surf or city experiences can apply. Both experienced guides and people building their guiding profile are welcome.
Can I register if I do not have guide licence details?
Yes. You can create an account and use the option to add those details later in the application. Complete your identity and service information accurately. A credential verification badge is only shown after the relevant documents are reviewed.
Is LankaTrip guide registration free?
Yes. Creating your guide account and profile is free, and LankaTrip does not take a tour commission cut.
Can I set my own tour guide rates?
Yes. Add your services and rates to your profile and discuss each traveller’s itinerary, inclusions and final price directly with them.
What should I prepare before registering?
Have your contact details, Sri Lankan NIC or passport details, a profile photo, languages, guiding areas, services and rates ready. Add supporting credentials if you have them.
How do I get tourist enquiries through LankaTrip?
Complete your guide profile with useful details about your experience and service areas, then keep it current. Travellers can discover guides and send enquiries. A profile gives you a way to be found; enquiries and bookings depend on traveller demand and your offer.
